Welcome to www.jackrussells.net The Jack Russells history starts in the 19th century. It was bred to keep up with the foxhounds and to face up to the quarry underground. The Jack Russell keeps vermin in check when not on the fox chase. Character has been the most important ingredient in its makeup. The coat can be of two types. One type is short and smooth, the other is longer and rough. The color is mostly white with black or tan, or both black and tan markings. The tail is short. The Jack Russell terrier has had a name change to Parson Russell Terrier, it became effective April 1, 2003. Other breeds of dogs may also be found on this website.
